Twenty Twenty-Two

Colonoscopy on February 3, 2022 showed mild inflamation in rectum, otherwise normal colon. Introduction of Visbiome probiotic (probiotic rinse). IBD regimen of mesalamine, diet, vitamins, and exercise.

While I am grateful for mesalamine helping me and for not having to be on heavier drugs, I am tired of being chained to a medicine cabinet. I am writing this in the beginning phases of my 2022 journey, so it will likely be updated in a past-tense after I arrive wherever this journey ends up taking me.

As of February 7, 2022, I finally took the leap and started intermittent fasting. I had been toying with the idea of it for a long time, but woke up and just decided to do it. I am following a 16/8 schedule with a breakfast fast. I have so much more energy and mental clarity right now and it has only been a week. I’ve also lost 3.5 lbs.

I have been tossing around the idea of going SCD – Keto for a long time. Recently I began digging in even further and exploring a carnivore diet (i.e. Lion Diet) for a while to reset my immune system and finally get off these medications.
