This one is too good not to have its own post off of Instagram. It's filling and gave me a needed protein boost. Enjoy!
Please don't mind any misspelled words or poor grammar as I type this on my cell phone. I recently had my 6 month GI visit in April and wanted to share the results. Thus far, everything is looking good. I requested a fecal calprotectin test (which apparently I'll be paying for out of pocket), and … Continue reading UC Remission Status Update
Updated on 11/13/18. The cake recipe has changed on the original site. I've updated the recipe below and credited the original site for the inspiration. I've also made this printable as one recipe instead of 3 individual recipes. My birthday just passed and I wanted to try making something for myself and my boyfriend to … Continue reading Coconut Pineapple Cupcakes
I recently accepted, after about eight attempts, that tomatoes do not agree with me. I already knew that most nomato sauce recipes contained carrots - which I cannot have. So, I set out to attempt making a nomato sauce by altering the need for carrots. I also do not use red wine vinegar and I … Continue reading Carrot-Free Nomato Sauce
It's been awhile since I've posted, so I figured I would condense a few meal ideas into one entry. Some of these are simply links to the recipes I used while others are recipes I created myself. I don't often measure when I cook and I had not intended to post most of these as … Continue reading SCD Meal & Snack Ideas (March 2018)
After searching for a natural facial cleanser for some time now, I decided that making my own may be the best way to control what I am putting onto my skin. With all of my intolerances and new skin issues, this provides me with the flexibility to change up the formula as needed to accommodate. … Continue reading Green Tea & Lavender Face Wash
This is my SCD Monster Cookie tweak. I wanted something with a bit more substance for Christmas Eve and I do love Monster Cookies, so I felt that this was a natural progression. Enjoy! Leave a comment with your thoughts and/or any adjustments if you try them.
My first SCD Thanksgiving meal was a success. The sauce pictured in the image is the cherry pear sauce located on the site. I simply roasted my veggies in honey, mustard powder, salt, and olive oil along with the turkey meatloaf (same time, stirring occasionally). Veggies include: celery, broccoli, string beans, and spinach.
I can no longer have cranberries, so I decided to try something new for a similar sauce for Thanksgiving. It came out wonderfully, but it isn't very tart. If you're looking for tart, I would replace the grape juice with SCD legal tart cherry juice and reduce the pears by 2. I would likely also … Continue reading Cherry Pear Sauce (Thanksgiving)
The inspiration for this sauce comes from duck sauce. It's not quite the same, but it does give you the sweet compliment to spicy mustard. I think that a proper duck sauce could be made using apricots and oranges in some fashion. Unfortunately, I cannot eat apricots.
